The Push to File Taxes Electronically
(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C.,– The tax season clock is rapidly winding down, and the state is trying to make the process as easy as possible. While encouraging people to file electronically to get a faster refund, they’re also offering a new initiative. This year filers who don’t have access to direct deposit will have the option of getting their refund put onto a debit card. Officials say, it eliminates the paper trail, making getting your refund faster, and much safer. As if getting you’re money in hand wasn’t enough of an incentive to file early, State Department of Revenue Public Information Director, Samantha Cheeck says, those who file electronically will not have to adhere to the April 17th tax deadline. In fact, those who choose the electronic method will haveuntil May 1st to respond to Uncle Sam. For more information: www.sctax.org
