Pilot survives crash of WW II replica plane

CHESTER, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say the pilot of a small World War II replica plane survived a crash landing in Chester County.

Officials say the pilot landed the plane in a field near Richburg around 3:30 p.m. Thursday after it had mechanical problems.

Emergency crews couldn’t initially find the pilot, and authorities say he got a ride back to the Lancaster County airport from a witness who saw the crash.

The pilot’s name has not been released.
