Teacher resigns after showing Jackass movie clip
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) — A Mount Pleasant teacher who showed his class part of the movie “Jackass 2” has resigned after earlier appealing his termination.
Wando High School teacher Christopher Poston submitted his resignation earlier this week. He had shown a snippet of the movie to a class on Valentine’s Day.
School district officials fired him but supporters launched a petition drive collecting 1,600 signatures that said Poston should stay.
Poston’s attorney had requested a public hearing but in his letter to the district superintendent, Poston said he regrets showing the clips.
He said he was resigning to protect both his family and students who have supported him. He said those students could be harmed by their continued support.
