Joint Base Charleston holds anti-terror exercise

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — An anti-terrorism exercise is being held this week at Joint Base Charleston.

The exercise is part of annual training to make sure personnel can handle threats to the base and its units.

The exercise that continues through Saturday is part of the Navy’s annual readiness exercise called Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield.

Officials say there may be times when there is increased traffic around the Charleston Air Force Base and Navy Weapons Station. There may also be times when there are delays getting into the bases.

Residents may also see increased security activity in the area during the week.
