Ex-Spartanburg hospital employee faces sex charge
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A former employee at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center has been charged with a sex crime involving a child.
Police Capt. Art Littlejohn says 37-year-old John McIntyre of Spartanburg is charged with a lewd act on a child.
Hospital spokesman Chad Lawson says McIntyre had worked as a patient care assistant in the pediatric unit. Lawson says McIntyre was fired last week. He had worked at the hospital since 2008.
Littlejohn says the incident was reported last month and involved a 12-year-old girl. Littlejohn says McIntyre is accused of improperly touching the girl at his home.
It was not clear if McIntyre has a lawyer.
