Top SC official speaks to high school ROTC cadets

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The top official of South Carolina’s Department of Employment and Workforce is speaking to ROTC cadets in Charleston.

Abraham Turner speaks to 100 cadets from five local high schools Tuesday at the bi-annual Military Mentors Lunch at The Citadel. The lunch is sponsored by the African American Studies program at the state military college.

Turner has previously served as chief of staff of the United States Strategic Command and as commanding general at Fort Jackson in Columbia, the Army’s largest basic training base.
