Man Wanted in SC Slayings Wrecked Car in Louisiana
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) – Orangeburg County deputies say a man wanted for killing two women was involved in a wreck in Louisiana while driving the car of one of the victims. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said his deputies found the bodies of a 21-year-old woman and a 39-year-old woman Tuesday behind a mobile home near Cope. Investigators then discovered 27-year-old Vicente Mendoza was involved in the wreck. He is wanted for murder, and deputies are asking authorities in Louisiana to help find him. Deputies began looking for the women after relatives of the younger victim called Monday and said they hadn’t heard from her in a day. The names of the victims have not been released.
