Diabetes, cancer focus of fair at SC State Museum
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Advice on healthy eating, exercise for children and disease prevention are among the topics at a health fair at the South Carolina State Museum.
The Saturday event is a counterpart to the BODY WORLDS Vital exhibit, which is at the museum through April 15.
Patricia Moore-Pastides, wife of University of South Carolina president Harris Pastides, is scheduled to talk about the importance of nutrition and exercise. She’s also signing copies of her cookbook, “Greek Revival.”
Hospital representatives will also be on hand to talk about diabetes, prostate cancer and women’s heart health. There will also be diabetes and prostate cancer screenings, as well as information on cancer, organ donation and exercise for children.
All the events are free with museum admission.
