Man shot to death in Cowpens; no charges filed

COWPENS, S.C. (AP) — Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting death of a man in Cowpens.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Monday the victim was 60-year-old James Thomas Roberts of Cowpens.

Investigators say Roberts died after a domestic violence-related shooting at his home.

Sheriff’s Lt. Tony Ivey said those involved in the incident have been identified. No charges have been filed.

An autopsy was planned Tuesday.
