York County authorities seize 30 dogs

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — York County sheriff’s deputies have seized at least 30 dogs while investigating a dog-fighting incident.

A sheriff’s report says deputies found a large dog-fighting pit last weekend after getting a complaint from a telephone caller.

No arrests have been made.

Deputies say they found a number of injured and chained dogs on the property.

A woman who answered a door at the home said she knew nothing about dog fighting. She said she and her son had been in the home only a few weeks.

Capt. Glenn Williams says investigators are trying to determine who is involved in the dog-fighting.
