20-year-old St. Matthews man charged with murder

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — A 20-year-old St. Mathews man has been charged in the fatal shooting last week of a man at his home near Jamison.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported Wednesday (http://bit.ly/HfsDOg ) that Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says Lamont Antonio Samuel was involved in the death of 28-year-old Taneris Hamilton.

Ravenell says Samuel has been charged with murder and obstructing justice in the March 20 shooting.

Ravenell says Hamilton died from several gunshot wounds.

Samuel is being held in the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.
