Annual Cajun Festival comes to James Island

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — They are rolling out the good times in the South Carolina Lowcountry at the annual Cajun Festival.

Sunday’s festival at James Island County Park in suburban Charleston is the 21st year for the event that features Cajun and Creole food, Zydeco music and activities for children and adults.

Everything from alligator meat to crawfish is being offered and for those with less exotic tastes, there will be things like snow cones and funnel cakes.

The festival is once again working with the South Carolina Green Fair with recycling stations and composting stations on site to handle trash generated by festival-goers.
