SC double homicide suspect arrested in Louisiana
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — A man wanted in the deaths of two women last month in Orangeburg County has been arrested in Louisiana.
Authorities say 27-year-old Vicente Mendoza was arrested Wednesday morning near Ville Platte, La.
Murder warrants have been issued against Mendoza in the killings of 21-year-old Hope Bowers and 37-year-old Latonia Profit, whose bodies were found in an abandoned mobile home on March 18.
The families of the victims say they knew Mendoza, and one of the victims had children with him.
It wasn’t clear if Mendoza had an attorney. Orangeburg County deputies say they are pushing to have him extradited to South Carolina.
