SC students meet Grim Reaper

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) — With spring break and prom season coming up, students at one South Carolina high school are getting an idea of what it’s like to meet the Grim Reaper.

The Beaufort Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/I1fCXw ) nine students at Beaufort Academy took part in the exercise on Wednesday.

Senior Megan Kahn wore a hooded black cape in the role of the Grim Reaper. She walked into classrooms, tapped a student on the shoulder and gave them a black T-shirt and a sign noting their time and cause of death.

A funeral bell sounded over the school PA system, and the student was not allowed to speak the rest of the day.

The idea was to draw attention to drinking and driving, texting and driving and other risky behaviors that can cost young lives.
