Wedding winners tie knot in USC-planned ceremony
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A couple is tying the knot — again — in Columbia after winning a nuptial event planned by students from the University of South Carolina.
University spokeswoman Frenche Brewer says Ryan and Emily Fleming are celebrating Sunday at the Inn at USC in Columbia.
The couple participated in a contest where the ceremony was to be held at no cost to them and organized by students from the College of Hospitality Retail and Tourism Management.
The couple married four years ago, but didn’t have a traditional wedding.
They are renewing their vows at the event. They had to agree to turn control of the event to the students. Local vendors are helping arrange the wedding.
