Aiken man shot to death while asleep in bed

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) — Police in Aiken say a man has been shot to death while sleeping beside his wife in their home.

Police said the drive-by shooting happened around 2 a.m. Monday. Investigators counted nearly a dozen bullet holes in the home.

Authorities say 44-year-old Rickie Harden was struck once in the head, while his wife sleeping beside them in their bed was not hit.

Investigators have not determined who the shooter might have been targeting at the home.

Police say they don’t have a description of the vehicle where the shots came from or of any suspects.
