Loris area students delayed after buses vandalized

LORIS, S.C. (AP) — There are delays for some Horry County children getting to school after buses were vandalized in a parking lot.

Horry County school officials have notified parents in the Loris area that there are delays after the damaged buses were found early Thursday. District spokeswoman Teal Britton said nearly every bus in a parking lot at Loris High School was damaged overnight.

Britton says windows were broken or painted over, tires were slashed and other parts of the buses were damaged. There is no immediate damage estimate. Police and school officials are investigating.
