Florence County woman gets life in husband’s death
FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) — A Florence County woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2004 death of her husband.
Forty-eight-year-old Brenda Miles Bratschi of Coward was convicted in Florence on Thursday in the death of Randy Bratschi.
Circuit Judge Craig Brown sentenced Brenda Bratschi to life in prison.
Prosecutors say the woman had attacked Randy Bratschi with a wooden tool about six weeks before he disappeared. Brenda Bratschi had been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill in that incident.
Prosecutors say she had attacked her husband that day because he was about to discover she had been taking large amounts of money from his bank account.
Randy Bratschi was last seen Nov. 26, 2004. His body was discovered in 2009.
