US Attorney announcing logo contest winners
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina’s top federal prosecutor is scheduled to announce winners of a contest for school children to design a logo for gun violence prevention publications.
U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles says students from three schools have won grade-level competitions in his office’s 9th Annual Project Sentry Logo Contest. He is set to announce the winners Friday.
The students come from Campobello Gramling School, Southside Middle School in Florence and Waccamaw High School on Pawley’s Island.
The statewide contest gives students an opportunity to illustrate how they prevent gun violence in school by designing a logo for use on upcoming Project Sentry publications. The theme of this year’s contest was “Preventing Gun Violence in Your School.”
Winners receive a $100 savings bond. The overall winner is featured in Project Sentry publications.
