Man falls to death trimming trees in Westminster
WESTMINSTER, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 50-year-old man cutting tree limbs in Westminster died after he fell about 10 feet to the ground.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said Bobby Clontz was getting ready to lower the bucket he used to help him cut the limbs when the trailer it was attached to collapsed around 10:45 a.m. Friday.
Addis says the basket hit a piece of equipment nearby, knocking Clontz to the ground. He died at the hospital about an hour later.
The coroner says an autopsy will be performed this weekend.
