COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Gamecock baseball continues to have to make adjustments. On his radio call-in show Wednesday night, Carolina Head Baseball Coach Ray Tanner said starting pitcher Colby Holmes had a “freak” injury in practice earlier in the day that would likely keep him from his usual starting spot in the final SEC game of the week. Holmes officially has a muscle strain and his status will be reevaluated all the way until just before the beginning of the Alabama series Thursday night at 7:30 when USC has to submit a final SEC roster. Holmes, a junior right-hander from Conway, is 6-0 on the season with a 3.29 E.R.A. He has 44 strikeouts and 12 walks in 52 innings.
