Richland County’s Newest Community Ambassadors
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Understanding the tasks local deputies face on a daily basis, 29 citizens get a passing grade and are the newest community ambassadors in Richland County. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department held a graduation Thursday night for its Citizens Police Academy. The 12-week program gives participants a brief overview of different departments, such as narcotics and the K-9 unit. There was also a special treat after the ceremony. Graduates were able to take ride-alongs with deputies in their cruisers. If you’re interested in the program, the next class begins in August. They’ll be held Tuesday nights from 7-9.
