Small plane crashes at Anderson Regional Airport
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a plane has gone off the end of the runway at the Anderson Regional Airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the four-seat Cirrus aircraft crashed about 1 p.m. Friday.
Fire crews and paramedics rushed to the plane, which was crumpled and smoldering in a field at the airport, which is just south of the city of Anderson.
There was no immediate word on how many people were on board the plane, or whether anyone was injured or killed.
