WVU creates new department of medical education
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — The West Virginia University School of Medicine is making some changes.
Dean Arthur Ross says it’s creating a new Department of Medical Education, and Dr. Norman Ferrari will serve as the founding chair. Ferrari is also becoming the medical school’s vice dean of education.
Ross said Friday the departments’ goals are to promote excellence in teaching and in scholarship across all medical school programs.
Ferrari joined the school in 1986 and has been on the administrative team nearly 13 years.
Also accepting a new appointment at WVU is Dr. Dana King, who will become chair of the Department of Family Medicine on July 1.
King currently serves as vice chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C.
