COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — University of South Carolina students are finishing exams, saying good bye to their residence halls and giving up in the process, and school officials say that’s fine. They’re giving up donations, that is. The ‘Give It Up for Good’ program allows students, as they move out of their residence halls for the summer, a chance to donate the items they don‘t need to benefit local charities. More than 20 donation sites are on campus this week. Last year, some 30,000 pounds of items were donated last year. This year proceeds from a yard sale will benefit Habitat for Humanity for the construction of a Habitat house on campus. The ‘Give It Up for Good’ Yard Sale will take place Saturday, May 12 from 7:00am to 1:00pm. For more information, call 803-777-1421.
