Local Woman Takes ‘Day of Prayer’ to New Level
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The National Day of Prayer, where people across the country pray for one day, may be over, but that’s not stopping a Northeast Columbia woman from starting a community prayer chain; however, the response isn’t what she expected. Teresa McClure, who lives in Northeast Richland County, says she felt compelled by God to intercede for her neighbors. Then she got the idea to ask others to join in and form a community prayer chain. She created fliers and passed out more than 100 of them; however, she has received no response. McClure is determined to keep going until she believes God says it’s okay to stop. She’s hopeful her immediate community shares the vision with others and the message spreads throughout the city and, eventually, the state. She believes most pressing issues include the safety of children, those who are sick and those who may be lost and feeling hopeless. McClure is seeking intercessors and those interested in participating in the community prayer chain. If interested, email her at legionbelievers@gmail.com.
