Father charged in dog mauling death “devastated”
RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina man charged with illegal conduct toward a child after a family pet mauled his infant son says he was “devastated” that he was arrested.
Twenty-eight-year-old Quintin Harold McGrew of Ridgeville told The Post and Courier of Charleston (http://bit.ly/IFPFhD ) he didn’t know he would be taken to jail until deputies called to say they had a warrant. McGrew was released on bond last week.
His son 2-month-old son Aiden died April 20th. The baby was in an infant swing when he was grabbed by the dog and mauled as McGrew slept a room nearby.
McGrew and his wife, 23-year-old Chantel, gave an interview to the newspaper Tuesday.
Chantel McGrew said she stands behind her husband and called him her best friend.
