Ignoring Car Recalls

(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., A new study by CarFax shows more than 2 million cars sold online had recalls that were never repaired. Many of those cars, still on the road with drivers who have no idea what potential pitfalls could be lurking under the hood. Local mechanic, Bryan Bouknight says some people tune out when they see letters or emails from dealerships because they automatically assume they’re trying to sell them something. Bouknight says people need to be more attentive to recalls and taking action to fix them. While Bouknight admits not all of the recalls are serious, a lot of them are and there is no way to know if your car has one unless you have it looked at. The good news, is if your vehicle does have an open recall, the problem can be fixed at your dealership completely free of charge.
