Lexington County House Fire Kills Mother, Son

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say a 79-year-old woman and her 57-year-old son have died in a house fire in Lexington County. Firefighters said the home burned to the ground shortly after the blaze was reported around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman says Dorothy Spires and her son, Robert Lee, died from burns and smoke inhalation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
