Mother’s Day Extra Special for ‘Only’ Children
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Mother’s Day is extra special for one Midlands family, as the ladies celebrate being an only child and the unique bond they all share. If you are an only child, chances are, at some point, you have felt lonely without siblings. Becky Walters, Katie Wilson and Lilly Wilson don’t feel like they are missing anything. In fact, this Mother’s Day, they are celebrating three times the love. The three of them are all an only child. 61-year-old Becky chose to put career first and waited until her 30’s to have a family. Daughter, 26-year-old Katie, was told by doctors that she wouldn’t conceive at all. With her decision to not have any more kids, her two-year-old daughter, Lilly, will grow up like her mother and grandmother did as only children. However, they feel like their Mother’s Day will be extra special. The ‘icing on the cake,’ says Becky, would be if her mother were alive to experience it as well.
