Couple in car in Hardeeville killed by gunshots
HARDEVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls says a couple found near a wrecked car in Hardeeville last weekend died of gunshot wounds.
Autopsies were conducted Monday on the bodies of 25-year-old Desmond Brown of Hardeeville and 26-year-old Octavia Scott of Bluffton.
Authorities said the two had been dating and their bodies were found late Friday near a car that had crashed into a tree.
Police say a passer-by reported a car crash before discovering the couple had been shot. Blood and other evidence in the car seem to indicate something happened before the crash.
Hardeeville Police Chief Richard Nagy says there have been no arrests and no motive established.
