Union dog groomer charged with mistreatment
UNION, S.C. (AP) — A woman who runs a dog grooming service in Union has been arrested and charged with mistreatment of animals.
Thirty-two-year-old Shelly Vinson of Jonesville is charged with two counts of ill treatment of animals.
Union police say they found a dead dog and two others locked in the building without proper care.
Police think the dog died sometime between May 2 and May 8.
John Johnson of Whitmire told police he had dropped his dog off at Classy Pet Grooming and them became ill and was unable to recover his dog.
Police found Johnson’s dog dead and two other dogs in the building.
It was not clear if Vinson has a lawyer.
