Marion County man gets life for killing wife
MARION, S.C. (AP) — Prosecutors say a Marion County man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife as her teenage sons heard the struggle from another room.
A jury found Edward Stackhouse Jr. guilty of murder Thursday in the September 2010 killing of 36-year-old Sharon Warren. Stackhouse had already spent five months behind bars for attacking his wife before the fatal stabbing.
Prosecutors say the key witnesses against Stackhouse were Warren’s teenage sons. One of them was stabbed as he tried to help his mom. Solicitor Ed Clements III said she told him that she loved him just before she died.
