SC State Names Warrick New Interim President
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) _ South Carolina State University has named a senior fellow at Howard University School of Pharmacy as the school’s new interim president. The school said Thursday that Cynthia Warrick will begin her new job in Orangeburg on July 1. Acting Board of Trustees Chairman John Corbitt says Warrick should bring energy and creativity to her new job. S.C. State began looking for a new president after George Cooper stepped down in March after firing eight administrators, accusing them of failing to follow university rules and procedures. Trustees will now begin the process of finding a permanent replacement for Cooper. Interim vice president for academic affairs Rita Teal is currently the university’s acting president.
