Teen drowns while rafting in Marion County

MULLINS, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 17-year-old man has drowned in the Little Pee Dee River.

Marion County Coroner Larry Richardson said the teen was rafting with three friends Friday afternoon when he went under and did not come up.

Divers found the teen’s body a short time later.

Richardson says he is not releasing the victim’s name until he can notify his family.
