Director of National Cancer Institute speaks in SC

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The director of the National Cancer Institute is visiting South Carolina.

Dr. Harold Varmus and U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham are stopping by the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston on Monday.

Varmus, a Nobel Prize recipient, is meeting with reporters before talking to Medical University doctors and medical researchers. Varmus is a former director of the National Institutes of Health.
