2 hospitalized when SC chase ends in crash
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Two people have been hospitalized after a high-speed chase with Charleston County deputies ended in a crash.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says deputies were chasing an SUV at around 11 p.m. Saturday night when the SUV ran a red light and hit a van.
Authorities say the SUV caught on fire, and the 33-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the van was also hospitalized.
Authorities are still investigating the crash. No details have been released about the suspect’s identity or why deputies were chasing him.
