Education Center set for Clemson Institute

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A new graduate education center will be built at Clemson’s Restoration Institute at the old Charleston Naval Base in North Charleston.

The university announced Thursday that the Zucker Family Graduate Education Center will be built with a $5 million gift from the family of Anita Zucker, the CEO of the InterTech Group.

The center will be a place where students, faculty and representatives of business can work on taking research developed at the institute and use it in the marketplace.

The institute is currently building a massive facility to test of wind turbines.
