Anderson names Scripps executive new publisher
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — E.W. Scripps Co. has named the senior director for sales for all of its newspapers the new publisher for the Independent-Mail of Anderson.
The newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/L0Yzqr ) Susan Kelly-Gilbert will take over her new job next month. She joined Scripps in 2010 directing sales and product support for the company’s 13 newspapers.
Before Scripps, Kelly-Gilbert spent two years as director of multimedia sales for 54 newspapers operated by MediaNews Group.
Scripps’ vice president of sales for the newspaper division, Bruce Hartmann, says Kelly-Gilbert is one of the most talented sales executive in the industry. He says she has thrived at making newspaper organizations a profitable place for advertisers.
Kelly-Gilbert replaces Mike Jameson, who left the Anderson newspaper in March.
