Air conditioner stolen from SC sheriff’s station

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Beaufort County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a bold thief.

Someone has taken the air conditioner from a sheriff’s substation on St. Helena Island.

The Island Packet of Hilton Head reported (http://bit.ly/LeRt8j) that a deputy reporting to the small office early Saturday noticed it was hot in the office. When he went around to the side of the building, he found out why. The air conditioner was gone.

An electrical box on the building also was damaged.
