Man found tied up, gagged and shot to death

MARION, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 71-year-old man found shot and killed in his Marion County home was gagged with his hands and ankles bound together.

Investigators said deputies sent to the home to check a possible home invasion found Sam Rowell dead around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say Rowell’s ankles were taped together, and his hands were taped behind his back. Several shell casings were found on the floor.
