Deputies looking for missing businessman find body
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — Investigators on the case of a missing Anderson businessman say a tip has led them to a body in the woods.
Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper said Wednesday the body has not been identified, but it was found by deputies searching for 53-year-old Chandrakant “C.J.” Patel.
The gas station manager was last seen Sunday when he told a clerk at his store he was leaving for a few hours.
Investigators charged three people with kidnapping in the case after deputies say Patel was seen on surveillance video going into the home where one of the suspects lived, but never coming out.
The coroner’s office says it could take a few days to identify the body, which was found without clothes.
