Banner plane crashes off North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A plane towing an advertising banner has crashed just off shore at North Myrtle Beach.

Authorities say there are no serious injuries.

North Myrtle Beach spokesman Pat Dowling said the plane went down in the ocean around noon Wednesday.

Dowling says the pilot was able to get to shore and did not appear to be seriously injured.

A boat is monitoring the plane until its owner can remove it from the water. Dowling wasn’t sure which company was operating the aircraft.
