Cops: Folk Nation gang member arrested in killing

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Lexington County deputies say a man accused in a fatal shooting is a member of the Folk Nation gang.

Investigators arrested 21-year-old Xavius Riley on Tuesday and charged him with murder. Deputies say he shot and killed 33-year-old Terance Jackson in the parking lot of a West Columbia apartment complex Monday night.

Authorities say Riley and Jackson were involved in a dispute about a week ago, and they are trying to find out more about the disagreement and whether it led to the shooting.

Deputies say a 24-year-old woman in the car with Jackson was wounded, but is expected to recover.

Riley is awaiting a bond hearing in the Lexington County jail. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
