(WOLO) COLUMBIA, S.C.– Each of the residents who attended the taking a bite of of crime forum say they have different reasons why change is needed in their community, but all of them agree the top priority should be making sure they are all safe. ” It does make you think twice about how late you stay out. I don’t like to come home after 11, because it might not be safe for me to get out of my car to get into my house.” Other residents say getting into their homes isn’t as big a concern as keeping the suspected criminals out. Regina Mosely says her house was broken into last year, something a majority of residents say they too have fallen victim to. During the forum residents who say they want to take back their neighborhood asked police for more police visibility, more code enforcement and cameras to be placed in some of the worst areas.
