Charleston gets into Olympic spirit with fun run

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston is joining cities around the nation in holding an Olympic 5K Fun Run.

Saturday’s run coincides with the opening of the Summer Olympics in London and is being held in conjunction with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign. The first lady is leading U.S. dignitaries to the Olympic games.

Charleston’s event is scheduled for Hampton Park. Participants are being encouraged to support the U.S. Olympic team by wearing red, white and blue.
