Frazier To Start At QB For Auburn

(WOLO) — Nine days before the season opener against Clemson, the Auburn Tigers finally have a starting quarterback. Thursday afternoon, Auburn Head Football Coach Gene Chizik named sophomore Kiehl Frazier the starter. Frazier beat out junior Clint Moseley. “After a complete and thorough evaluation during spring practice and through the first three-plus weeks of camp, Kiehl Frazier has earned the starting job at quarterback,” Chizik said via a release. “We expect Kiehl to be a leader for this team and to continue to work hard every day. I am confident in his ability and leadership skills and look forward to watching him progress in both areas.” In 2011 as a freshman, Frazier appeared in all 13 games but mainly ran the football. He had 76 carries for 327 yards and three touchdowns. He completed five of 12 passes for 34 yards and threw two interceptions.
