Excitement In The Air For Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Gamecocks have a couple of more days to prepare for their season opener at Vanderbilt. The Commodores made their first bowl appearance last year against Cincinnati in their 31-24 loss in the Liberty Bowl. That was Vanderbilt’s fifth overall appearance in a bowl game in program history. Despite their reputation, Gamecocks head football coach Steve Spurrier knows that most of Vanderbilt’s losses were by a touchdown or less. The HBC is looking forward to a good game of football come Thursday night’s kickoff. South Carolina and Vanderbilt are set to kick off 7:00 Thursday. The game will air on ESPN.
