Division II SAC to play tournaments at Furman

ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — The South Atlantic Conference is moving its men’s and women’s basketball championships to Furman’s Timmons Arena.

The NCAA Division II league announced the move Thursday. Furman will host men’s and women’s semifinals and finals on March 9-10. The games were to be played at Catawba Valley Community College in North Carolina, but a scheduling conflict at that venue led to the change.

League commissioner Patrick Britz said the conference is thrilled Furman could step in hold the games. The SAC is made up of 10 schools in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
