Woman Arrested for Fake Charity

Chapin, SC (WOLO)–A Chapin woman is in custody for getting people to donate money to a fake charity. Police say Donna Winn is charged with obtaining goods under a false pretence. Investigators say Donna Winn sold raffle tickets at different locations telling people that the money would go towards a cancer fundraiser. Police say she was in fact using the money to pay for her divorce.
